About the Role

This position is part of the Youth & Recreational Sports group, which develops technology platforms that enable athletes, parents, coaches, and team administrators to manage organizations, collect payments, share schedules, discover programs, and stay connected with their communities. The group also provides solutions that help leagues and organizations screen and train coaches to promote child safety.

You’ll contribute to building highly interactive, user-friendly, and feature-rich applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a modern engineering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain modern, user-friendly applications.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, UX Designers, QA Engineers, Principal Engineers, and Operations teams.
  • Follow engineering best practices by building APIs, writing and maintaining unit tests, applying modern frameworks and design patterns, reducing technical debt, and continuously delivering high-quality software.
  • Complete complex engineering tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Participate in technical planning, solution design, and effort estimation.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions and help evolve the overall application architecture.
  • Mentor teammates and support their technical growth.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working in CI/CD environments.
  • Strong understanding of writing modular, maintainable, and secure code.
  • Solid experience with unit and integration testing.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience processing payments in high-volume environments.
  • Familiarity with payment integrations such as Stripe or Worldpay.
  • Experience with RabbitMQ or similar messaging platforms.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless computing.
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs and working with HTTP protocols.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and microservices.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and software design patterns.
  • Passion for building high-quality, sustainable software using modern engineering practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional engineering teams.
