What’s the role?

The Senior Infrastructure Services Specialist within the Mainframe Infrastructure Services team is required to lead and support Westpac’s complex mainframe environment within their technical expertise.

The role plays an important role in the development and maintenance of technical solutions within the Mainframe and ensures that the detailed design and operations are fit for purpose. 



Work Experience

What do I need?

  • Proven experience with: 
  • Db2 13 for zOS System and Tools maintenance and support procedures. 
  • DB2 catalog and directory, Db2 Subsystem (DSNZPARM) and application (DSNHDECP) parameters. 
  • Job Schedulers – TWS (OPC), ESP.
  • Key Db2 Metrics. 
  • Backup and Recovery of Catalog, Directory and Tools databases.
  • Advanced knowledge with: 
  • IBM tools - Optim Archive, Omegamon, Db2 PE, SMP/E & zOSMF.  
  • BMC tools – Apptune, AMI (Change Manager, Catalog Manager, Recovery Manager, Reorg, XBM).
  • SYSPLEX, Data Sharing and DDF configurations. 
  • Advanced analysis, problem solving, troubleshooting and consultative skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
