Join the team behind Allegro, a business-critical platform that supports offers, orders, product catalogue, and inventory management for Swisscom’s enterprise customers. You will work on a large and complex Java application landscape that combines a long-standing Jakarta EE monolith with newer Spring Boot microservices.
This role is suited for experienced Java developers who enjoy working in enterprise-scale environments, solving complex technical challenges, and contributing to the gradual modernisation of existing systems. While parts of the platform are being modernised and migrated towards cloud-native solutions, a significant part of the work also involves developing, maintaining, and improving established applications that are central to Swisscom’s B2B operations.
THE PRODUCT & TEAM:
Allegro is a large-scale enterprise application used to manage offer creation, order capture, fulfilment processes, product catalogues, and inventory for Swisscom Business customers.
The platform combines a large Jakarta EE application with Spring Boot microservices and runs across Swisscom infrastructure and AWS. The technology landscape includes Oracle Database, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and GitLab CI/CD.
Our teams are responsible for the full software development lifecycle, including operations and production support. Agile teams are distributed across Riga, Rotterdam, and other European locations. We value collaboration, ownership, openness, and continuous improvement.
As a Software Developer you will :
Develop, maintain, and operate enterprise applications supporting Swisscom’s B2B business processes
Contribute to the gradual modernisation of legacy applications and the adoption of cloud-native solutions where relevant
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirement refinement, solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and incident resolution
Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, architects, and external suppliers across distributed teams
Review code, share knowledge with colleagues, and contribute to engineering best practices
Investigate and resolve production issues while improving system stability and maintainability
Work within a large-scale Agile organisation based on SAFe principle

Salary from 4000 to 5500 EUR monthly gross
80 EUR monthly cell phone and internet allowance

Job requirements
Strong professional experience with Java development, including hands-on experience with Spring Boot
Good understanding of software development principles and enterprise application architecture
Experience with CI/CD tools and practices such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar
Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
Experience working in Agile software development environments
Very good spoken and written English
Interest in working with complex systems and balancing new development with existing enterprise applications
Openness to learning new technologies, methodologies, and engineering practices
Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies is considered an advantage
Nice to have:
Experience with Kafka, Elasticsearch, or Oracle Database
Exposure to AWS or cloud-native application development
Basic knowledge of Node.js or React
