Position Description:
We are looking for a Java Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework and SQL to join our team working on complex enterprise applications in the telecommunications domain.
The ideal candidate has good working proficiency in French, has solid experience with integration-heavy applications and is interested in understanding the functional and business context behind the software. Previous experience in Telecom, OSS/BSS or network-related applications is a strong advantage.
In this role, you will design, implement and maintain enterprise applications and backend services, work with APIs and system integrations, and contribute to the evolution and maintenance of existing applications. You will collaborate closely with technical and functional teams in a French-speaking environment.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Spring-based technologies;
• Work with relational databases and write efficient SQL queries for data access, analysis and troubleshooting;
• Collaborate with French-speaking functional and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, business rules and their technical impact;
• Analyse and understand existing codebases, technical documentation and application integrations as part of application maintenance and evolution;
• Develop and maintain integrations with internal and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs and asynchronous messaging;
• Participate in code reviews, unit and integration testing, CI/CD and software delivery activities;
• Ensure solutions follow clean code principles and meet quality, maintainability and performance standards;
• Investigate technical issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective solutions when required;
• Ability and interest in understanding complex functional and business domains, beyond the purely technical implementation;
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java enterprise application development;
• Proficiency in Spring Framework (Spring Boot preferred);
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases; experience with PostgreSQL is a strong advantage;
• Good working proficiency in French (B2 or above), both spoken and written – mandatory;
• Good understanding of software development best practices and design patterns;
• Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines and REST APIs;
Nice to have:
• Experience with Hibernate/JPA;
• Experience with asynchronous messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ;
• Experience with SOAP-based integrations;
• Experience with Linux and application servers such as Tomcat;
• Experience maintaining or modernizing legacy enterprise applications;
• Angular experience is an advantage; experience with Wicket or similar Java web frameworks is a plus;
• Previous experience in Telecom, OSS/BSS, network inventory or network-related applications is a strong advantage.
