We are seeking a Senior Java Engineer to design and deliver AI-enabled solutions using Java technologies. In this role, you will lead the implementation of business-critical, AI-powered features while contributing across the entire Software Development Life Cycle, from solution design through deployment and continuous improvement. This is a remote position based in Lithuania, working on cloud-native, microservices-based solutions for enterprise clients.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and deploy AI-enabled solutions using Java technologies
- Lead the implementation of business-critical features powered by AI
- Design and build microservices-based architectures and event-driven integrations
- Contribute to all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, including solution design, prompt engineering, model integration, evaluation, monitoring, deployment and continuous improvement
- Stay updated on the latest trends in Java, cloud and AI technologies
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in backend platform development
- Proficiency in Java and/or Scala
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms - AWS and/or Azure
- Experience designing and building microservices-based solutions
- Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures
- Competency in SQL and data modeling
- Qualifications in solution design, prompt engineering and model integration
- Familiarity with evaluation, monitoring, deployment and continuous improvement of AI solutions
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
Nice to have
- Experience with React or Angular/TypeScript
- Flexibility to use Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS / AKS) and CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI or Jenkins
- Familiarity with Generative AI fundamentals and Generative AI-assisted development

Salary range €3.6K-€5.5K gross, based on your experience and interview results.
