We are currently seeking a skilled Senior Node.js Engineer (AWS Serverless) on behalf of our client - a specialized German consulting firm focused on the energy and financial markets.

Our client provides high-end advisory and technology services, helping their partners navigate the complexities of energy trading, risk management, and digital transformation. Their work combines deep industry-specific expertise with a commitment to high-quality software engineering. By joining this project, you will be part of a team that values architectural excellence and high-end technical solutions. We are building a large-scale cloud-based portal in the energy domain, focused on digitalizing end-to-end processes for renewable energy management.

Project Goal

Rewrite legacy project: You will be responsible for modernizing and rebuilding an existing legacy system using a modern tech stack.

Requirements

Core Technical Expertise:

  • Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript.

  • Several years of hands-on experience with AWS.

  • Critical: Extensive experience with AWS Serverless and serverless architecture.

  • Proficiency in core AWS services: Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, S3, Cognito, and CloudWatch.

Architecture & Infrastructure:

  • Strong experience in designing REST APIs.

  • Solid understanding and experience with event-driven architectures.

  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation or the Serverless Framework.

  • Knowledge of OpenSearch is considered an advantage.

DevOps & Engineering Practices:

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps is a major plus).

  • Proven ability in monitoring and troubleshooting production systems.

  • Expert knowledge of Git and professional code review practices.

Domain & Nice-to-Have:

  • Previous experience in the Energy, Utilities, or Trading domains is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Backend Development: Develop and maintain high-performance backend services using the AWS Serverless stack.

  • API Design: Architect and implement scalable REST APIs to support growing business needs.

  • Infrastructure: Design and deploy robust Infrastructure as Code solutions.

  • Automation: Work closely with CI/CD pipelines and drive deployment automation.

  • System Support: Actively monitor, troubleshoot, and support production systems to ensure maximum uptime.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with frontend and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
