Job Summary:

The Enterprise System Operations team under System & Network Operations department is responsible for managing the round-the-clock, 24x7 operations of HKEX enterprise systems. We play a critical role to ensure high system availability for Market operations, while we continuously modernize and enhance the team process to improve operational efficiency and support our future business needs. HKEX is looking for a high calibre candidate as an IT operations specialist to assist the team in achieving its ambitions.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities:

System Monitoring and Management:

  • Proactively monitor the performance and availability of applications, servers, and systems.

  • Use monitoring tools (e.g., TrueSight, SolarWinds) to track system health and performance metrics

  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, errors, and outages.

Application Support:

  • Ensure the smooth operation of business-critical applications.

  • Troubleshoot application-related issues and coordinate with development teams for resolution.

  • Perform application batch processing, deployments, updates, and patches in coordination with DevOps or engineering teams.

Incident Management:

  • Respond to system and application alerts, incidents, and outages.

  • Log, track, and resolve incidents using IT service management (ITSM) tools like ServiceNow.

  • Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or development teams as needed.

Automation and Scripting:

  • Use various job scheduling and automation tools (e.g., Dollar Universe, CA7, Ansible) to automate system routine tasks and health checks.

  • Implement and manage automation tools for configuration management and deployment.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, application dependencies, and operational procedures.

  • Generate reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless operations.

  • Provide technical support to end-users or internal teams for application-related issues.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows, zOS) and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

  • Experience with application servers (e.g., Apache, Tomcat, IIS) and databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, DB2).

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell, REXX) for automation.

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, Understanding of DevOps practices.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 24 x 7 shift duty is required
