Position Summary & Objective:
The purpose of this role is to lead new product launches, drive continuous improvement efforts and provide technical support to operations and quality from a product and process perspective.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of new products as the factory representative in project teams as part of the product launch life cycle.
- Developing the required manufacturing process by reviewing product requirements
- Lead continuous improvement activities, with a focus on cost reduction whilst still maintaining De La Rue’s quality standard
- Support operations and quality in root cause analysis to maintain yield and waste targets
- Lead product changes, driven by customer requirements, supplier notification of changes or cost exercises, through our standard APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process
- Build trial and product costing estimates and participate in the annual factory budget process
- Participate as the product expert in routine APQP systems including: FMEAs, Job Planning and Job Closure meetings
- Support in Floor Management System such as Gemba, Escalations, Daily Routines and TIPS when necessary
- Support in the product qualification of new machinery
- Advance knowledge to become globally recognised Subject matter experts for the factory processes.
- In depth market technical usage of products and impacts to supply chain.
- Process / Product influence improved activities and holding Blue sky thinking sessions to be held in the factory to gather cost savings ideas.
- EDRF completion harmony with costs and understand impact on financial pricing - business - profit centre mentality vs just cost centre.
- See the bigger picture of the benefits of the products for the market.
- Work closer with the wider technical / development team to embrace a full e2e process.
- Mentor / leadership and coaching methodologies used for direct reports.
Divisional Authentication:
- Support the Divisional leadership team, executing the strategy for Authentication in terms of the core GRS and Brand Protection propositions
- Provide subject matter expertise to support effective decision making provide input as required to the annual strategic planning cycle
- Support and follow the governance and operational disciplines applicable across the division.

Education & Experience:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent in a related field
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing practices and lean processes
- Understanding of product development process requirements
- Demonstrated competencies in all aspects of project management
- Excellent communication skills and a team player
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good command of written and spoken English.
