Job Description:

Intel Ireland process engineering departments are looking for Process/Equipment Engineering talent to join our advanced technology fab. As a Process/Equipment Engineer, you will focus on delivering a robust and efficient semiconductor manufacturing process with data driven analytics and systematic problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate will work as a Process/Equipment Engineer on Intel leading edge technology nodes, partnering with engineers from various disciplines and other departments as well as integrated module teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Own and continuously improve process performance within your assigned module or area.

  • Support the development, qualification, and transfer of new process/automation technologies into High Volume Manufacturing.

  • Drive process optimization to achieve targets in safety, quality, yield, output, and cost.

  • Use statistical analysis, data analytics, and structured problem-solving techniques to identify root causes, reduce variability, and improve process capability.

  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex process issues in partnership with equipment, manufacturing, quality, and module engineering teams.

  • Drive defect reduction, yield improvement, and process matching across tools and work centres.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-site teams to implement process improvements and share best practices.

  • Partner closely with manufacturing and equipment engineering teams to improve tool performance, process stability, and operational efficiency.

  • Contribute to the implementation of automation solutions that improve process control, productivity, and manufacturing robustness.

  • Support technology ramp, process change management, and continuous improvement initiatives across the fab.

  • Mentor less experienced engineers and contribute technical expertise to team development.

Qualifications:

To be initially considered for this position, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.

  • 5+ years of industrial experience in semiconductor manufacturing or a related high-technology manufacturing environment.

  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following process areas: Deposition, Lithography, Etching, Ion Implantation, Annealing, or Chemical Mechanical Planarization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data to drive technical decisions and process improvements.

  • Experience in process troubleshooting, process control, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple engineering and operations teams.

  • Demonstrated focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Preferred qualifications. The following would be an advantage:

  • A PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.

  • Post-doctoral research experience in a relevant technical field.

  • Experience in advanced semiconductor process integration or high-volume manufacturing at leading-edge technology nodes.

  • Strong automation knowledge, including experience with manufacturing automation, process control systems, scripting, data automation, or digital solutions in a fab or industrial setting.

  • Familiarity with statistical process control, design of experiments, FMEA, root cause analysis, and other structured engineering methodologies.

  • Experience driving cross-functional improvement projects with measurable impact on yield, quality, cost, or output.

  • Familiarity with data automation tools or custom scripts used to extract, clean, and analyze manufacturing data (Python, SQL, MATLAB, R, VBA, Shell scripting, BASH)

  • Knowledge of defect reduction strategies, process matching, and manufacturability improvement.

  • Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical workstreams within a team environment.
