Job description

We are looking for a Senior Python Data Engineer to join the engineering team at Notch, a full-service custom software development company, on our mission to deliver top-notch digital products for global enterprises and tech disruptors.



What will you do?

As a Senior Python Data Engineer, you will join a cross-functional team working on a large-scale retail data platform for a global client. The platform aggregates and curates product data from multiple high-volume internal data streams, transforming it into a reliable and scalable dataset served through APIs.

In this role, you will focus on building and maintaining robust data pipelines and backend services, ensuring high data quality and system reliability in production.

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for processing large volumes of product data

  • Develop and maintain backend services and APIs for serving curated datasets

  • Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, and handling upstream schema changes

  • Own features end-to-end — from implementation to deployment, monitoring, and support in production

  • Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to deliver reliable data solutions

  • Contribute to automation and continuous improvement of data workflows and systems

The perfect candidate for Senior Python Data Engineer:

  • Has strong experience with Python, writing production-grade, well-tested code

  • Has experience building and maintaining large-scale data systems

  • Is comfortable working with data pipelines, batch processing, and data-heavy backends

  • Has strong SQL skills, including writing and optimizing complex queries

  • Understands data quality practices (validation, reconciliation, schema evolution)

  • Has solid software engineering fundamentals (testing, code reviews, CI/CD, version control)

  • Has experience with containerization (Docker or similar)

  • Has experience building or maintaining APIs / serving layers

  • Has worked with cloud platforms (AWS or similar)

  • Is proactive, independent, and comfortable owning solutions in production

  • Communicates clearly in an international, cross-functional environment



We would highly appreciate:

  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow or similar)

  • Experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift)

  • Familiarity with AWS data stack (S3, RDS, Redshift)

  • Experience with GitHub Actions (or comparable CI/CD)

  • Experience with FastAPI for REST APIs

  • Background in data modeling or warehouse design
