We're looking for a Senior Python MCP Engineer to lead the creation of a production-ready, cloud-native Enterprise Agent Development Platform designed to help engineering teams define, orchestrate, deploy, and monitor AI agents at scale. Built on LangGraph and Strands Agents within AWS AgentCore Runtime, this platform brings consistency to agent development company-wide, offering a streamlined single-file developer workflow that automatically manages runtime, tooling, observability, and deployment. This position centers on the template library and MCP factory/delivery service, contributing to a larger effort covering agent framework design, runtime architecture, marketplace integration, CI/CD automation, and enterprise-level observability.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain the template library and MCP factory/delivery service to enable scalable agent development
- Implement server-side MCP protocol functionality for consistent agent-tool communication
- Build and optimize serverless components using AWS Lambda and API Gateway
- Develop asynchronous Python services using FastMCP, asyncio, and Pydantic
- Integrate platform-wide observability standards with OpenTelemetry for traces, metrics, and logs
- Enforce container security baseline practices across the development lifecycle
- Work with cross-functional teams to shrink agent development timelines from months to days
- Maintain consistent security, quality, and governance standards across the platform
Requirements
- 3+ years of Python development experience
- Experience with API and integration engineering
- Proficiency in async Python frameworks such as FastAPI and aiohttp
- Strong expertise in Python, FastMCP, asyncio, and Pydantic
- Knowledge of AWS Lambda and API Gateway
- Understanding of server-side MCP protocol implementation
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry for traces, metrics, and logs
- Experience with container security baseline practices
- English proficiency at a B2+ level
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with the FastMCP library
- Familiarity with LangGraph tool integration
- Exposure to AWS Bedrock or AgentCore
