This role supports the Sports Admin Product, enabling youth and recreational sports organizations to manage programs, payments, schedules, and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop highly interactive, user-friendly, and feature-rich applications.
  • Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, and Engineering teams to design, build, maintain, and deploy scalable SaaS solutions.
  • Apply best practices: API development, unit/integration testing, modern frameworks, design patterns, and continuous delivery.
  • Lead design and architecture discussions; contribute to application architecture evolution.
  • Mentor team members and support skill development.
  • Plan, estimate, and execute complex development tasks with minimal supervision.

Tech Stack

  • Backend: Ruby on Rails, Node.js (TypeScript)
  • Frontend: Angular 12+, NgRx, RxJS
  • Databases: MySQL, PSQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB, ElasticSearch
  • Infrastructure: AWS (SNS/SQS, Lambda, Serverless), Docker, Linux/MacOS, Redis, Memcached
  • Tools: GitHub, ElasticSearch, Kubernetes (nice to have)

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years professional software development experience, primarily with Ruby.
  • 3+ years working with MySQL or DynamoDB.
  • 3+ years with serverless architectures (AWS preferred).
  • Proven experience delivering secure, highly available SaaS applications in a CI/CD environment.
  • Strong skills in modular, maintainable, and secure code development.
  • Solid understanding of testing best practices (unit/integration tests).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Payment processing and payment facilitation experience (Stripe, WorldPay).
  • Experience with RabbitMQ or other message brokers.
  • Docker/Kubernetes expertise.
  • RESTful API and HTTP protocol proficiency.
  • Experience breaking monoliths into microservices.
  • Strong OOD, design pattern application, and event-driven architecture knowledge.
