Red River Consulting Services is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our team on a long-term basis. The Senior Software Developer will initially be supporting one of Red River's public sector clients in downtown Austin, TX.


The Senior Software Developer will participate in a web development team, creating and maintaining cloud-based public and internal web applications. Applications are built using JavaScript front-end frameworks (Angular 6+), and a REST API back end built with NodeJs and AWS serverless technologies.


The Senior Software Developer will perform routine programming tasks in an agile environment, including implementing solutions based on user stories and customer designs, and providing technical expertise to the team with design discussions and peer reviews. This person will provide feedback and contribute expertise to improve applications and development processes.

Responsibilities:

·          Develop functional and maintainable web applications, websites and components

·       Write high-quality, reusable code following industry best practices

·       Develop front-end website interfaces using Angular 6+ (TypeScript)

·       Develop back-end functionality using AWS Lambda functions written in NodeJs (using TypeScript)

·       Design and implement database schemas in MySQL and DynamoDB NoSQL

·       Develop and maintain REST API deployments using the serverless.com framework

·       Develop front end layouts using Bootstrap and SCSS technologies

·       Follow best practices for serverless architecture

·       Participate in peer code reviews

·       Write unit tests using JavaScript testing frameworks

·       Serve as an adviser on JavaScript development to the team

·       Review and validate proposed architectural solutions

·       Participate in project meetings



Requirements

Minimum Requirements (mandatory):

 

·       8 years of experience as a Web Software Developer including:

o   Website development in a production environment in any language

o   Proposing and designing website architecture based on customer requirements

o   Writing code and unit tests

·       5 years of experience with AWS Cloud

·       5 years of experience with GIT

·       3 years of experience with highly complex application security requirements

·       3 years of experience developing backend functionality using AWS Lambda functions written in Node.js using TypeScript

·       3 years of experience with Node.js

·       3 years of experience with REST API development and integration

·       3 years of experience with MySQL and NoSQL databases

·       2 years of experience with AWS Serverless architecture

·       2 years of experience with Agile and Scrum

·       2 years of experience with writing unit tests

·       1 year of experience with serverless.com framework

·       CURRENT AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification

Preferred Skills/Experience:

 

·       2 years of UI/UX design experience

·       2 years of experience with Bootstrap framework

·       2 years of experience with data transformation and ETL processes

·       2 years of experience with Mac OSX

·       Proficient with the Microsoft Office products, including Word, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint

·       Public sector experience (Federal, State or Local government)
