About the Role
Join our Platform Team and help build the core services, internal APIs, and data workflows that power a leading cloud platform in the energy industry. We're looking for a senior engineer passionate about modern Python, scalable architectures, data-intensive applications, and engineering excellence.
You'll work closely with product, platform, and data teams to deliver reliable services that enable faster development across the organization.
What You'll Do
- Build scalable backend services and internal tooling with Python.
- Design and maintain REST/gRPC APIs and data processing services.
- Develop and optimize ETL/data pipelines for large-scale datasets.
- Integrate applications with Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, and other modern data platforms.
- Deploy cloud-native services using Docker, GitHub Actions, and modern CI/CD practices.
- Improve testing, developer experience, and engineering standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on architecture and technical decisions.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
What We're Looking For
Must Have
- 5+ years of professional experience with Python (3.12+)
- Strong experience with FastAPI and/or Flask
- Expertise in REST APIs, asynchronous programming, and type-safe Python
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and large-scale data processing
- Hands-on experience with Pandas, NumPy, Polars, or PyArrow
- Strong SQL skills and experience integrating with Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or similar platforms
- Experience with MongoDB
- Strong testing practices using pytest
- Experience with Docker, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD
- Familiarity with Bash scripting
- Experience with Ruff, Pyright, or similar code quality tools
Nice to Have
- Experience deploying applications on Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, GCS)
- Exposure to LLM APIs, AI integrations, or agent frameworks
