About the Client
A major Brazilian financial institution specializing in investment banking, wealth management, and corporate lending. The customer develops secure digital banking platforms and financial solutions to serve a diverse global client base.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Python
- Work with Java and/or Golang across backend systems and services
- Build and maintain cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS
- Develop solutions using AWS services including Lambda, SNS/SQS, S3, API Gateway, and DynamoDB
- Design and integrate REST APIs and distributed backend services
- Build and support messaging and asynchronous processing solutions
- Contribute to software architecture and technical design decisions
- Translate business and technical requirements into reliable, scalable solutions
- Troubleshoot complex application, integration, and performance issues
- Work with both relational and NoSQL databases
- Develop clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-tested code
- Implement unit and automated testing practices to maintain code quality
- Collaborate through Git-based development and code review workflows
- Contribute to continuous improvements in engineering practices, development efficiency, and solution quality
- Leverage modern development tools, including AI-powered solutions, to improve coding, testing, debugging, and delivery
What You Bring
- Senior-level backend software development experience
- Strong hands-on development experience with Python
- Strong experience with at least one additional backend language: Java or Golang
- Strong experience working with AWS
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as: Lambda, SNS/SQS, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB
- Strong understanding of backend development and software architecture
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs
- Experience with distributed systems and scalable backend architectures
- Experience with messaging systems and asynchronous processing
- Strong knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL databases
- Solid knowledge of unit testing and automated testing practices
- Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-tested code
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand and translate both business and technical requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable contributing to architectural and technical design decisions
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed teams
- Strong communication skills
- Proactive and ownership-driven approach to development
- Openness to adopting new technologies and modern engineering practices
Nice to have
- Strong backend engineer with deep Python expertise and practical experience with Java or Golang
- Comfortable building and supporting distributed, cloud-native applications on AWS
- Able to think beyond individual development tasks and contribute to broader architectural decisions
- Strong advocate for clean code, automated testing, scalability, and engineering best practices
- Comfortable troubleshooting complex technical problems across applications, integrations, and infrastructure
