Job description

WHAT MAKES US, US

Join some of the most innovative thinkers in FinTech as we lead the evolution of financial technology. If you are an innovative, curious, collaborative person who embraces challenges and wants to grow, learn and pursue outcomes with our prestigious financial clients, say Hello to SimCorp!

At its foundation, SimCorp is guided by our values — caring, customer success-driven, collaborative, curious, and courageous. Our people-centered organization focuses on skills development, relationship building, and client success. We take pride in cultivating an environment where all team members can grow, feel heard, valued, and empowered.

If you like what we’re saying, keep reading!

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

Our team focuses on two critical pillars: securing the software development lifecycle and building internal tooling that empowers engineering teams across SimCorp. We work closely with development teams to identify and address security risks at the code level, and we build the automation and utilities that make developers more effective and secure by default.

As a Software Developer on this team, you will contribute to work that directly impacts the quality and security of software shipped to clients. You will grow alongside experienced engineers in a team that values technical depth, curiosity, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Develop and maintain internal tooling and automation that improves developer productivity and security practices.
  • Implement and improve security controls at the development level, including vulnerability detection, code analysis, and secure coding practices.
  • Write clean, maintainable code following object-oriented design principles and established patterns.
  • Participate in code reviews, contributing to and learning from team standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand their needs and deliver practical solutions.
  • Maintain and improve existing systems, including diagnosing and fixing bugs, resolving security vulnerabilities, modernizing legacy components, and adding new functionality.
  • Support continuous improvement of our development workflows and tooling.

WHAT WE VALUE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field; or about to complete one. Equivalent demonstrable knowledge will also be considered.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and awareness of common vulnerabilities (e.g., injection attacks, input validation, authentication weaknesses).
  • Proficiency with Git and version control workflows.
  • Understanding of relational databases and the ability to write correct, efficient SQL in transactional systems.
  • Strong fundamentals: we value depth over breadth.

NICE-TO-HAVE

  • Experience with C# and the .NET ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Exposure to cloud environments, particularly Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices.
  • Good communication skills in English (written and spoken).

BENEFITS

An attractive salary, bonus scheme, and pension are essential for any work agreement. However, in SimCorp, we believe we can offer more. Therefore, in addition to the traditional benefit scheme, we provide an extensive work-life balance and opportunities for professional development: there is never just only one route - we offer an individual approach to professional development to support the direction you want to take.
