The Role:

As a Software Development Engineer 2, you will be part of a cross-disciplinary team responsible for the user experience of AMD’s graphics products. To this end, you will be charged with researching cutting-edge technologies and collaborating with multiple software functional teams to deliver the best possible user experience to our end-users.

The Person:

Are you an able communicator and can you work effectively in a collaborative team environment? Are you passionate about software quality, and love to learn about new technologies? If so, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and maintain core technologies for innovative applications on AMD platforms.
  • Promptly triage and resolve quality and performance issues raised by customers and QA.
  • Work closely with product managers and teams from other functional areas to gather and document software requirements.
  • Actively participate in design reviews and code reviews.
  • Collaboration with international teams of software specialists.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Working experience with C++.
  • 1-2 years developing desktop applications in the Windows environment
  • Experience with OOP design and development.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills to interface with multi-functional teams.
  • Proactive, conscientious, and a team player.

Nice-to-have Skills and Experience:

  • Prior experience with Qt and QML
  • Understanding of Windows internals
  • Prior experience with multimedia, audio/video processing, and streaming
  • Familiarity with network programming and communication protocols
  • Web development experience
  • Mobile application development experience
  • Knowledge of DirectX and OpenGL

Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelor or master’s in Computer or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
