Description
About Xe
Xe is a cross-border payments platform. We help SMEs and consumers in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand collect, convert, hold, and send money across markets. Each year, over 300 million people use Xe for currency information and over 350,000 use us to send money overseas. Today, we're rebuilding the platform layer behind cross-border payments for corporate and consumer clients. We're small enough that your code ships fast and your decisions matter, and Euronet Worldwide (Nasdaq: EEFT) backs us so the problems stay real-scale.
About the role
We're hiring a mid-level full-stack engineer who likes owning real problems end-to-end, from API design and frontend experience through to backend services, production reliability, and launch. You already use AI as part of how you think, build, test, and ship.
You'll write code that moves money in production, build and modernize the platform across the stack, and ship customer-facing features as Xe rebuilds its platform layer. You'll work in a small engineering team with direct access to product, design, and compliance, own services in production, make design decisions within your domain, and partner with architects and team leads on bigger design decisions.
- AMBITION - We dream big, try things out and always ask “why not?” and “what if?” We’re ambitious in our thinking and our delivery
- RESPONSIBILITY - We get involved, bring our perspective, and are always open to new ideas. We take personal responsibility
- COMMUNITY - We value a sense of belonging, trusting each other and encouraging authenticity. We contribute to our community
Build and ship features across the stack that move money and manage multi-currency balances across a range of domains, including onboarding, KYC and KYB, payment initiation, FX, settlement, and other supporting services
Ship customer-facing features that customers use every day, from the interface through to the services behind them
Own your services in production, including reliability, observability, on-call, and incident response
Partner with product, design, and compliance from problem framing through launch
Use agentic coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent) daily across prototyping, refactoring, testing, and documentation
Help modernize the platform by taking parts from legacy services into the modern stack, alongside architects and team leads in your domain
3 to 6 years building production web applications, end-to-end
Strong frontend proficiency with Vue.js, React, or equivalent
Strong backend proficiency in C# / .NET preferred; other OOP languages welcome (Java, Kotlin, Go, or equivalent)
Solid SQL and relational database fundamentals
Writing and maintaining tests as part of how you ship
Daily use of agentic coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent) across the SDLC
Production experience on AWS, including hands-on deployment and native services such as SQS, DynamoDB, S3, ECS, and Lambda
Solid CS fundamentals and pragmatic system design
Strong communication and collaboration across engineering, product, and design
Nice-to-have
Payments, FX, or regulated-industry experience
Service-oriented or microservices architecture experience
