Overview We’re looking for a Software Engineer to design, build, test and support enterprise applications using Java. You’ll work across desktop and backend systems, partner with business and technical colleagues to turn requirements into working solutions, and help deliver changes through CI/CD pipelines. The role also includes production support from time to time, including occasional shift rotations when needed. How you'll make an impact Design, develop and maintain software applications using Java technologies. Build and support desktop and backend applications using Java Swing and related frameworks. Develop scalable and maintainable solutions that follow software engineering best practice. Work with business stakeholders, technical leads and team members to understand requirements and deliver solutions. Build, test and deploy applications using CI/CD pipelines. Carry out code reviews and follow coding standards. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, testing and production environments. Take part in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement activities. Support production issues, including occasional shift-based support when required. About you Professional software development experience in Java. Three years of professional software development experience Hands-on experience with Java 1.8. Experience building applications using Java Swing. Working knowledge of Vert.x and event-driven application development. Experience using Jenkins for build and deployment automation. Experience using Gradle as a build automation tool. Python scripting or development experience. Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns. Experience using Git or another source control system. Ability to troubleshoot, debug and resolve application issues. Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments would be useful. Exposure to RESTful APIs and microservices architecture would be an advantage. Experience with relational databases and SQL would be an advantage. Knowledge of cloud platforms and containerisation technologies would be an advantage. #LI-Hybrid
