Markon is seeking a Software Engineer Level 2 to design, develop, and sustain mission-critical software systems for our Fort Meade Customer. This role requires deep expertise in Java-based development, distributed processing, and cloud technologies to support high-performance, scalable solutions within complex operational environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based software applications supporting mission requirements.
- Develop and optimize distributed processing solutions, including MapReduce-based workflows.
- Support cloud-based architectures, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Integrate and maintain systems leveraging GhostMachine and QTA technologies.
- Analyze system and user requirements to derive effective software solutions.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software issues across development and production environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust system design and operational effectiveness.
- Contribute to and uphold software development best practices, standards, and documentation.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
- Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java development.
- Experience with MapReduce and large-scale data processing frameworks.
- Experience supporting cloud environments and architectures.
- Hands-on experience with GhostMachine and QTA.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and enterprise integration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Intelligence Community or DoD systems.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, performance tuning, and high-throughput environments.
- Experience working in classified or mission-critical environments.
Salary Range
USD $210,000.00 - USD $225,000.00 /Yr.
