About the role
- We are seeking a Software Engineer to support the development, sustainment, and troubleshooting of future mission capabilities. The ideal candidate will work on the design, implementation, testing, and integration of software solutions that incorporate COTS, GOTS, and FOSS products, packages, and libraries. The successful candidate will contribute to a mission-focused software development environment, leveraging modern programming languages, container technologies, and DevOps practices to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
What you'll do
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot mission-critical software applications.
- Design, implement, test, and integrate software capabilities with existing systems and third-party technologies.
- Develop solutions using Python and modern software development practices.
- Support containerized application development and deployment using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Create and maintain Helm Charts for Kubernetes-based service deployments.
- Develop automation scripts and support operational efficiency improvements.
- Troubleshoot complex software and system integration issues.
- Support CI/CD workflows, infrastructure automation, and source control practices.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable mission capabilities.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- One of the following education/experience combinations:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus 5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus 7+ years of Software Engineering experience.
- 9+ years of Software Engineering experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Experience working with Linux command-line tools and environments.
- Experience developing automation scripts using Bash.
- Recent software development experience using Python 3.x.
- Experience with Rust programming concepts or the ability and willingness to learn Rust.
- Experience with NoSQL databases, including MongoDB.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containerd.
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.
- Experience creating Helm Charts for Kubernetes deployments.
- Familiarity with messaging frameworks such as RabbitMQ.
- Familiarity with CI/CD principles and tools, including GitLab CI.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools such as Ansible.
- Experience using Git source control.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL databases, including PostgreSQL.
- Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite, including Jira and Confluence.
- Experience supporting modern DevOps environments and automated software delivery pipelines.

The pay range for this role is:
220000.00 - 235000.00 USD per year (Annapolis Junction, MD)
