Job Description

About the company

Disputifier is a high-growth fintech startup transforming how e-commerce brands protect and recover their revenue. Our platform automates chargeback prevention and response, turning a traditionally manual, frustrating process into a fast, intelligent, and efficient workflow. We help merchants drastically cut chargebacks, boost win rates, and reclaim time they can reinvest in growing their business. With a performance-based model, our incentives are fully aligned with our customers, and we only win when they do. Supported by seamless integrations and a rapidly evolving product, Disputifier is reshaping a mission-critical part of the e-commerce stack.

Joining us means becoming part of an ambitious, fast-moving team focused on transforming a critical but often overlooked part of the e-commerce ecosystem. If you're excited by impact, ownership, and building in a fast-paced environment, you'll feel right at home with us!

About the role

We're looking for a software engineer who's productive in Rails, comfortable with ambiguity, and motivated by shipping real value quickly. You'll own features end-to-end within a core area of our payments dispute resolution platform, working alongside a small, experienced engineering team.

We move fast, and we want someone who uses every tool at their disposal to do the same — including AI coding tools like Cursor, Copilot, and Claude Code. If you're already using these to accelerate your work and are excited to push that further, we want to talk.

Who you are

  • You have a bias toward action — you'd rather ship something and iterate than wait for perfect information

  • You're a solid Rails developer who can be productive quickly in an existing codebase

  • You actively use AI coding tools to move faster and learn new systems

  • You enjoy digging into complex technical issues and finding effective ways to solve them

  • You spot things that could be better and take initiative to improve them

  • You iterate quickly, learn from what ships, and adjust

  • You welcome feedback and are committed to ongoing growth

Technology Stack

  • Back-end: Ruby on Rails

  • Database: Aurora MySQL

  • Platform: AWS

  • Front-end: Server-rendered HTML, light JavaScript

Target Qualifications

  • 3–5 (Intermediate) or 5-8 (senior) years of software engineering experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails

  • Demonstrated use of AI coding tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar) in your workflow

  • Comfortable working independently and making decisions without perfect information

  • Experience in fast-moving or startup environments is a plus

  • Located in Canada or US time zones (fully remote)
