About ATI:
ATI is transforming the automotive service industry through intelligent inspection technologies, Physical AI, and advanced automation solutions. Our mission is to help automotive service providers operate safer, more efficiently, and more profitably through innovative technology.
Our systems do real work in the real world. SmartBay is our automated tire change and wheel balancing system, and BrakeWise is our AI-powered brake intelligence platform. Behind both is a software stack spanning perception, autonomy, on-device applications, and cloud services that has to be reliable and precise under real service-lane conditions.
As ATI moves from first deployments to scaled operations, we are seeking a Software Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive execution across our software program and turn an ambitious roadmap into shipped releases.
Position Overview:
The Software TPM owns program execution across ATI's software organization, spanning perception, autonomy, application software, cloud and backend services, and developer tooling.
You will run the operating cadence, translate product and reliability targets into sequenced milestones, manage dependencies across software teams and their hardware and field counterparts, and own the software release pipeline end to end. You will surface risk early, clear blockers, and keep a single source of truth for where every software workstream actually stands.
This is a high-ownership, hands-on role for someone who is fluent in modern software development, comfortable in a sprint review and a release readiness meeting alike, and trusted by leadership to know the real status of every program.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Execution and Roadmap
- Own the end-to-end software roadmap across perception, autonomy, application software, cloud and backend, and tooling.
- Translate product, KPI, and reliability targets into sequenced milestones with clear owners, dependencies, and dates.
- Run the software operating cadence, including sprint planning, standups, roadmap reviews, and status reporting.
- Maintain a single source of truth for software program status, priorities, and commitments.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Manage dependencies across software teams and their hardware, field operations, and commercial counterparts.
- Remove blockers before they slow delivery, and escalate cleanly when tradeoffs are needed.
- Drive alignment on scope and priorities when teams compete for the same resources.
- Facilitate technical decisions and ensure they are documented and communicated.
Release Management and Field Deployment
- Own the software release pipeline, including versioning, release readiness, and deployment to fielded units.
- Drive go/no-go decisions for software going to live customer deployments.
- Partner with field operations and customer teams to ensure smooth rollouts and fast issue resolution.
- Close the loop between field behavior and software priorities, turning field issues into tracked fixes.
Quality, Test, and Reliability
- Partner with engineering on test automation, CI/CD, and quality gates.
- Track software quality metrics and ensure fixes are validated before they reach the field.
- Drive systematic reduction of recurring software defects and reliability issues.
Metrics, Risk, and Reporting
- Define and track software program metrics, including delivery health, cycle time, defect trends, and reliability.
- Identify, quantify, and mitigate program and schedule risk early.
- Build and maintain dashboards and status reporting for engineering leadership and the board.
Process and Continuous Improvement
- Establish software program management practices that fit an early-stage, fast-moving team.
- Improve planning, tracking, and release processes as the platform and fleet scale.
- Foster a culture of accountability, disciplined execution, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of technical program management experience, with a strong track record managing software programs.
- Demonstrated ability to ship complex software in a fast-paced environment across multiple teams.
- Experience with roadmapping and prioritization, ideally on robotics or hardware-connected programs rather than pure SaaS.
- Strong technical fluency across the software development lifecycle, agile practices, and systems-level thinking.
- Experience owning software release management, including versioning, CI/CD, and deployment to production or fielded systems.
- Comfort coordinating with hardware, field, and commercial teams where software has external dependencies.
- Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills, from engineers to executives.
- Highly analytical, with strong problem-solving skills and genuine comfort living in metrics and KPIs.
- Self-starter mentality with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and build processes from the ground up.
- Bachelor's in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Software program experience in robotics, perception, autonomy, computer vision, or automotive systems.
- Familiarity with cloud and backend services, data pipelines, or ML-driven products.
- Startup, early-stage, or high-growth company experience, including zero-to-one and early commercial scaling.
- Experience shipping software that runs on or alongside physical hardware in the field.
- Automotive technology, service, dealership, or fleet domain knowledge.
- PMP, CSM, or equivalent certification.
