We are looking for an experienced Senior Solution Architect to drive end-to-end solution design within a complex regulated Belgian energy market environment.
In this role, you translate business and functional requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned with enterprise architecture, delivery roadmaps, and operational models.
You act as the key link between business stakeholders, architecture governance, delivery teams, suppliers, and operations, ensuring design quality, consistency, and continuous improvement across the full solution lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
• Define end-to-end solution architectures aligned with business objectives
• Translate functional and non-functional requirements into scalable designs
• Ensure alignment with architecture principles (modularity, scalability, integration)
Technology & Strategy
• Guide technology choices in a cloud-first environment (e.g. Azure)
• Promote modern architecture patterns (APIs, microservices, event-driven)
• Contribute to architecture roadmaps and long-term evolution
Delivery & Collaboration
• Collaborate with business, product teams, and developers
• Guide implementation and support transition to operations
Required Skills & Experience
Education & Certifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience)
• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert or TOGAF Foundation
• Additional certifications are a strong asset
Language Skills
• Dutch and/or French: C1–C2 level (mandatory)
• Second national language (Dutch/French): C1 or higher (preferred)
• English: C1 or higher
Experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience including 5+ years in solution architecture
• Experience with complex, distributed systems
• Experience in cloud environments (preferably Azure)
Technical Skills
• Azure, .NET/C#, React (or equivalents)
• API-driven and microservices architectures
• Data platforms (e.g. Databricks)
• DevOps, CI/CD, and monitoring practices
Competencies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Leadership and mentoring mindset
• Structured, pragmatic, and result-oriented
Nice to Have
• Experience in Belgian energy/utilities sector
• Experience in Agile / DevOps environments
