Responsibilities:

•    Propose, define and design high and low-level solutions and technical architecture patterns to support the Product team requirements.

•    Coordinate with Tech Lead, DevOps Lead, Data Engineering Lead, Data Architect to define Solution architecture for new capabilities.

•    Attain approval for architectural designs from D3 TDD Project Board and Architecture Review Boards

•    Produce an architectural roadmap of Data Analytics capability which is enabled over time in service of customer requirements. 

•    Providing an architectural roadmap of Data Analytics capability which is enabled over time in service of customer requirements. these will include, but not limited to: Azure Storage (blob/file/ADLS), Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Factory.

•    Define integration patterns for Data Catalogue, source systems, and sites

•    Define data access mechanisms and endpoints for end-users and data consumers

•    Work with DE Lead and DE Technical Lead (product owner of TDD Foundation and Technical team) to manage work items within the Azure DevOps backlog pertaining to Solution Architecture in line with Release objectives.

•    Manage Anglo American Data Platform Solution Architecture  pages and related confluence material up to date.

• Proven experience in managing and maintaining cloud infrastructure, particularly in Azure environments, with a strong emphasis on security, scalability, and high availability.

• Hands-on experience in Azure DevOps, PaaS, and IaaS Platform Architecture, Azure Platform Security.

• Expert knowledge of Azure Monitoring, Dashboarding and Alerting.

• Hands -on experience with Deploying Apps using AKS and Azure app services.

• Skilled in Azure Infrastructure (VM, AKS, etc..), AAD Management, Azure Networking Services (Front Door, WAF, App Gateway, etc.)

• Strong proficiency in automation tools, scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, YAML), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices (e.g. ARM templates).

• Solid understanding of Azure Active Directory (AAD), identity and access management (IAM), and access management best practices.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with English language proficiency. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, provide training, and document processes.

• Familiarity with cloud security best practices, compliance requirements, and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, PCI-DSS) is desirable.

Start Date: The sooner the better, but if you currently work somewhere and have a notice period, it is still fine, we will wait for the right person! 

Selection process

1.       Phone conversation with one of our recruiters - We will briefly talk about your motivation and experience and we will switch to English for a few questions.

2.       Online test via Hackerrank - You will have to fill out our SQL test that takes 1.5 - 2 hours.

3.       Video interview with the experts on the team. They will tell you more about the Data Engineering role at Starschema, and you will also talk about your professional background.
