Solution Engineer

Your Role

As a Solution Engineer at Shelly, you work on large-scale automation and integration projects with business clients , from solar systems and power metering to stores, commercial buildings, and other smart automation setups. You connect the dots between client needs, Shelly devices, software platforms, and installation teams, turning complex requirements into working, reliable solutions.

Job requirements


• You have experience in solution engineering, systems integration, automation, IoT, building automation, industrial automation, or a similar technical field 
• You understand both hardware and software and feel comfortable working between the two 
• You have hands-on experience with integrations involving devices, sensors, controllers, metering systems, or automation platforms 
• You understand basic electrical concepts and are comfortable discussing power metering, device installation, wiring logic, and technical constraints 
• You have experience working with clients, gathering requirements, and translating business needs into technical solutions 
• You are familiar with APIs, cloud platforms, local networks, communication protocols, or integration logic 
• You can read technical documentation, wiring diagrams, product specifications, and installation guidelines 
• You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical people 
• You approach problems practically, stay calm when things do not work the first time, and enjoy figuring things out 
• You are fluent in English

Job responsibilities


• Communicate with clients to understand their automation goals, technical setup, project scope, and success criteria 
• Gather and structure requirements for integration projects involving Shelly devices and client systems 
• Design practical solution concepts for power metering, solar system integrations, commercial automation, store automation, and building automation use cases 
• Work closely with client installation teams to support project implementation and make sure the solution works as planned 
• Translate client requirements into clear technical instructions, documentation, and internal feedback 
• Coordinate with Shelly product, software, hardware, and support teams when projects require deeper technical input 
• Test, troubleshoot, and fine-tune integrations during setup and after deployment 
• Identify technical risks early and suggest simple, reliable ways to solve them 
• Support partners and clients with product know-how, integration logic, and best practices 
• Share feedback from real client projects to help improve Shelly products, tools, and future solutions
