Job Description
Overview

goPuff is currently recruiting for a Slotting Specialist for our microfulfillment network. The Slotting Specialist is a strategic role which ensures that items throughout the building are classed and slotted appropriately to optimize building productivity, maximize storage utilization and saturation and reduce overall operational costs.


Responsibilities

  • Use a variety of data sources to identify trends and improve efficiency through location changes and bin consolidation.
  • Work closely with the operations and technical leadership team to support creation and changes to bins, maintain records and lists of bin information and coordinate movement of inventory to drive optimal utilization of capacity and ensure there are enough facings and locations available.
  • Work closely with Inventory Control/Quality Assurance (ICQA) to provide data and analytical support for process improvement initiatives and to root cause investigation of defects.
  • Build work lists and establish priorities for consolidation teams to guide their day to day work.
  • Consistently manage projects involving labor from the building to consolidate locations or change bin locations.
  • Assists facility leadership with capacity management.
  • Provide weekly updates.
  • Ensure all items are appropriately classed.
  • Monitors picking activity and slots items to minimize cost and improve space & picking.
  • Needs to coordinate all bin conversions prior to execution.
  • Investigates and resolves bin related problems reported by all departments within the FC. Maintains record of floor bin configuration including floor map.
  • Coordinates the movement of inventory.
  • Audits bin utilization and gives recommendations on consolidation activities.
  • Identify consolidation opportunities.
  • Help create or modify consolidation plans.
  • Coordinate the execution of the consolidation plans or projects 
  • Maintains and updates building pick paths with operations and tech
  • Previous .com fulfillment experience
  • Strong analytical and logic skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of pick paths used in this facility a plus.
  • Knowledge of bin types and configurations desired.
  • Initiative to develop tools, data collection processes, and data management systems.
  • Proven ability to clearly communicate with managers and associates at all levels.
  • Proven ability to work productively and efficiently in an independent setting.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent, Strong Working knowledge with MS Excel (Designing queries, compiling data and generating reports in MS Access, Excel and SQL)
  • Analytical mindset; comfortable dealing with numbers – ability to see patterns; think longer term about impact of changes
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work extra hours as required.
  • Previous .com fulfillment experience
