Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time administrative position of Special Project Coordinator: Construction Training Projects
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, the Special Project Coordinator: Construction Training Projects is responsible for overseeing student recruitment intake and performance in the Southwestern Illinois College Highway Construction Careers Training Program (HCCTP) at the East St. Louis Community College Center. The Special Project Coordinator works with the Department of Workforce Development Career Pathways and external project partners to recruit and prepare participants for construction trade union apprenticeships or other entry level positions in the construction industry, prioritizing opportunities for underrepresented populations. The Special Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program, including developing curriculum, monitoring student activities, tracking performance outcomes, assisting trainees in overcoming barriers to completion, supporting student transitions work and/or further education, maintaining student records, ensuring required reports are prepared and submitted by established timelines. This is a full-time, twelve-month position contingent upon continued receipt of sufficient grant funding.
QUALIFICATIONS
- An Associates degree in related field is required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 5 years of construction industry experience is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to hire.
STARTING PAY AND HOURS
Salary Grade 2 on the Administrative Pay Scale, ranging from $46,032 to $57,516.
