Overview

The Speech Language Pathology Assistant supports the delivery of speech and language services under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist. The SLPA works directly with students or clients to implement therapy plans, collect data, and support communication goals while adhering to professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.


Responsibilities

* Implement speech and language therapy activities as outlined in treatment plans developed by the supervising Speech Language Pathologist
* Provide direct support to students or clients in individual and group settings
* Assist with articulation, language, fluency, voice, and social communication interventions
* Collect, document, and report data on client performance and progress
* Prepare therapy materials and organize treatment environments
* Support carryover of communication strategies into classroom or daily environments
* Maintain accurate service logs, session notes, and documentation in accordance with district or organizational requirements
* Collaborate with teachers, caregivers, and other staff as directed by the supervising Speech Language Pathologist
* Adhere to all supervision requirements and scope of practice guidelines for SLPAs
* Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, FERPA, and applicable state and federal regulations

Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech Language Pathology Assistant studies, Communication Disorders, or a related field
Valid SLPA license or registration as required by the state
Experience working with children or individuals with communication disorders preferred
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to follow treatment plans and work collaboratively under supervision
Basic proficiency with documentation systems and educational or clinical technology

 


Posted Salary Range

USD $35.00 - USD $37.00 /Hr.
