SQL Server Developer

Consolidated Business Operations and Support Services

Location: REMOTE (Virginia)

Job Description:

The Consolidated Business Operations and Support Services group provides broad range services to support survey research, business processing, customer contact or fulfillment operations. We are currently seeking a SQL Server Developer to collaborate with analysts and software engineers to design and develop database schema, stored procedures, reports, and processes for a variety of applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works with management to develop database strategies to support organization requirements
  • Works with the technical team to create database structure and queries
  • Works with testers to ensure the database is collecting the necessary data and is producing the correct outputs
  • Makes recommendations for changes in database structure, inputs and outputs based on user and client input
  • Responsible for the quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data
  • Consults with end users to gather requirements, develop, test and support reporting need
  • Collects, collates, models, interprets and analyzes data; explains variances and trends
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and performance tune T-SQL scripts.
  • Create and maintain SSIS ETL packages and processes
  • Participate in proposal development from a database and reporting perspective
  • Install and configure new SQL Servers.
  • Determine most effective ways to optimize performance, including making hardware purchasing decisions, server configuration changes, and index\/query adjustments.
  • Ensure all database backups meet recovery point objectives

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field
    • 3 years of T-SQL development experience in SQL Server 2008 R2 or 2012, with an emphasis on stored procedures, user defined functions, and triggers
    • 2 years of experience SSIS package maintenance and development
    • Experience creating, managing, and deploying SSRS reports
    • Current active US Government security clearance desired OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance

      Preferred Skills\/Experience:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
      • Experience with complex query optimization and performance benchmarking
      • Experience writing PowerShell scripts, commandlets, and functions for automated tasks.
      • Experience working with Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, or Cisco UCCE
      • Experience with SSDT
      • Experience using Profiler traces and other tools to find the most frequently run queries
      • Experience with clustering, log shipping, mirroring, and replication.
      • Prior experience working in a contact center environment
      • Experience with using Veeam for SQL Server backups
