The Controls Design eXecution team seeks a Senior Electrical Controls Engineer to design, implement, and sustain electrical control systems for Amazon's global data center infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring reliability, efficiency, and scalability of mission-critical control systems that power our data center operations.



Key job responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation of electrical control systems for power distribution, cooling, and building automation
- Integrate control systems with infrastructure equipment and monitoring platforms
- Maintain and optimize existing control systems across the data center portfolio
- Develop technical specifications, standards, and best practices for electrical controls
- Troubleshoot complex control system issues and implement sustainable solutions
- Partner with Controls Design Engineering, Data Center Delivery, Field Engineering, and Commissioning teams
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and field technicians
- Drive automation initiatives and continuous improvement projects

Basic Qualifications

- 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
- 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities

Preferred Qualifications

- Professional Engineering or Architectural License
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
