Job Summary
Sr. Java Backend Developer
Location: Middletown, NJ (Onsite from Day 1)

Role Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Java Backend Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on experience building secure, high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong logical reasoning, and a proven track record of writing production-grade business logic with comprehensive test coverage and security-first design.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and implement complex backend services and APIs using Java (17/21+).
Design standalone, framework-agnostic business logic that is modular, testable, and maintainable.
Define and enforce unit/integration testing standards across the team (JUnit 5, Mockito, AssertJ).
Lead security reviews — identify and remediate vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10, SAST/DAST).
Mentor junior/mid engineers on secure coding practices, testing strategies, and clean design.
Drive technical decisions on architecture, patterns, and technology adoption.
Own performance-critical paths: concurrency, caching, data pipeline optimization.
Conduct threat modeling, secure design reviews, and incident root-cause analysis.
Required Skills:
Core Java & Architecture (10+ years).
Expert-level Java (8 through 21+), Collections, Streams, Generics, Concurrency (java.util.concurrent, virtual threads).
Deep mastery of SOLID, GRASP, and design patterns (Strategy, Factory, Builder, Chain of Responsibility, Decorator, Observer).
Proven experience structuring domain logic independent of frameworks (hexagonal/ports-and-adapters/clean architecture).
Advanced Spring ecosystem: Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data, Spring Batch, Spring Cloud.
Experience designing distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
The pay range for this role is $110,000- $120,000 per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
