POSITION SUMMARY: 
The FedEx Office Sr. Learning Designer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and sustaining quality training and development solutions that provide organizational impact and enhance performance of FedEx Office managers and team members. This role will assess, plan and design engaging and highly effective training and development programs, courseware, job aids and reference material in support of various business needs and learning outcomes.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with business owners, subject matter experts (SMEs), work groups, and members of the Human Resources department.
  • Advise leaders and learning and development on design needs, proper platforms, and timelines for design
  • Define scope of learning programs and projects (or portions of larger training initiatives and programs) including timelines, resources, goals, and constraints.
  • Determine and advise on design approach and the best solution by developing in house training or purchasing off the shelf training
  • Create return on investment for training development and expectations for design type
  • Develop evaluation strategies, gather metrics, and evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs and projects.
  • Review new content for quality and objective alignment and create a sustainable process to review, assess and modify existing content.
  • Conduct research and identify new best practices in design for learning progression
  • Research emerging learning approaches, platforms, and practices and provide recommendations for their use at FedEx Office
  • Analyze industry benchmarks/data for determining design/development criteria and providing buy vs. build recommendations for FedEx Office training programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other opcos to identify design best practices
  • Analyze instructional design work process and workflow to streamline, automate, and improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Write content scripts based on SME input and feedback
  • Review new content for quality and learning objective alignment
  • Create instructional materials as well as visual, auditory, and interactive learning tools based on need
  • Assess and redesign content as necessary
  • All other duties as needed or required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years instructional design, development, and evaluation experience preferred
  • 3+ years training/facilitation or courseware development experience preferred
  • 2+ years project management experience preferred
  • Prior experience working with instructional design principles and practices (ADDIE) including adult learning theories, interactive training & learning design, eLearning design principles for both synchronous and asynchronous strategies
  • Prior experience with the ISD process including performance analysis, training needs assessment, task analysis, design, development (including storyboards, scripts, and course content) and evaluation
  • Prior experience consulting with others and ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Prior experience working with corporate executives and subject matter experts
  • Prior experience in project management, including instructional and curriculum design, and adult learning principles recommended
  • Prior experience managing vendor relationships preferred
