Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, performs one or more of the following activities on the company's internal networks: configuration management, system administration, security administration, network administration, development system implementation, production system implementation. Responds to issues related to environment, hardware, system, and/or software and implements resolution across technology areas. Supports multiple systems simultaneously, and provides leadership for large project efforts. Provide support or lead activities related to change management, outage management and/or project management.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in IT related engineering, computer science or information systems or related field. Five (5) years work experience in engineering or information technology environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
Network engineer with primary responsibilties including engineering, capacity planning, ordering/upgrading circuits & equipment, and technical oversight & support for routing and switching technoclogies and services to support FedEx data center networks.
Skills/Knowledge Considered a Plus:
- Network infrastructure experience (routing, switching, wireless/wired)
- Familiarity with opitical telecom equipment
- Software Defined Networking (API, Automation, Network controller)
- Programming/Scripting experience (Python, Go, Ansible, Java, etc)
