We are looking for a senior PostgreSQL DBA who will be responsible for creating, maintaining and administering PostgreSQL database for a major initiative.

What you will do

·        Design, develop and implement scalable and recoverable database(s) with appropriate partitions and replications as required for an enterprise database

·        Closely consult with the development team and infrastructure team as an expert on PostgreSQL database requirements and capabilities and to implement architecture standards.

·        Work with the development team to identify the table and column constructs and provide normalized database.

·        Develop and optimize/tune database queries based on business requirements

·        Develop scripts to extract bulk data from the database in an efficient manner.

·        Assist in configuration of third party tools by providing the right database criteria.

·        Follow industry best practices for availability, security, backup and recovery, and integrity of the database.  

·        Performance tuning and improvement of the database

Requirements

·        10 years of experience as PostgreSQL database administrator with hands on experience

·        Strong knowledge of building complex and efficient SQL queries

·        Industry experience of 5 years or more working in wealth management/asset management/investment banking applications

·        Knowledge on setting up and scheduling scripts to extract and load bulk data from/to the database

·        Worked in scrum/agile projects

·        Self driven, as the primary DBA will be expected to develop and set the standards for SQLs, Database

·        Performance tuning of SQLs and database

·        Experience with design and development of databases based on business requirements

·        Strong communication skills

·        Experience building scalable database solutions.

·        Experience building robust databases with replication with a solid backup and recovery strategy.

·        Experience administering Oracle/MongoDB is a plus
