Job description

Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

The TPM role leads the planning and implementation of AWS cloud logistics warehouse and transportation capacity systems, as well as scaling and continuous improvement efforts. Planning and implementation efforts are focused on short/long term inventory, warehouse, and transportation capacity.

The role will also drive cross-functional projects related to end-to-end lead-time reduction, fulfillment network optimization, and bottleneck mitigation, contributing to the overall cost reduction, emission reduction, and service level improvement.

The right individual will partner cross-functionally with cloud engineering, operations, logistics, finance, data analytics, and key vendors for above-mentioned efforts and projects. Possessing strong leadership, influencing skills, and technical depth are critical elements of success for this role.

Key job responsibilities
1. Capacity modeling and planning for warehouse and transportation resources over 1/3/5-year horizons, factoring in demand variability, utilization, cycle times, and service level targets.
2. Design and develop systems to identify, track, and resolve capacity bottlenecks across warehouse and transportation networks.
3. Design and implement cost-reduction systems targeting strategic short/long-term savings in warehouse/transportation operations.
4. Lead end-to-end projects to track, analyze, optimize, and reduce transportation and warehouse lead times/cost for fulfillment.
5. Build end-to-end inventory management systems covering placement, positioning, prioritization, turns/cycles, excess/obsolete mitigation, inventory health monitoring, and weeks-of-supply/coverage analysis.
6. Define and monitor business metrics, identify execution gaps, and drive corrective actions for capacity, cost, and cycle-time targets.
7. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sustainability, efficiency, and service levels across the fulfillment network.
