Job description

Flex is the diversified manufacturing partner of choice that helps market-leading brands design, build and deliver innovative products that improve the world.

A career at Flex offers the opportunity to make a difference and invest in your growth in a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative environment. If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.

Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we’re calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Sr Technical Project Manager located in Austin, TX.

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Sr Technical Project Manager will drive the execution of CTO-led strategic programs across AI infrastructure platform architecture, power, cooling, mechanical and electrical systems, controls, software, validation, and manufacturing readiness. This role translates complex technical priorities into integrated plans, milestones, governance routines, risk-management actions, and executive-level updates, ensuring cross-functional programs move forward with clarity and accountability.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Lead CTO-owned strategic programs across platform architecture, power, cooling, mechanical systems, software, validation, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Develop integrated program plans, schedules, milestones, dependency maps, risk registers, decision logs, and executive reporting.
  • Coordinate execution across Engineering, Product Management, Labs, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and customer-facing teams.
  • Translate technical requirements, customer needs, roadmap priorities, and architecture decisions into actionable plans and operating cadences.
  • Identify and resolve risks, blockers, resource constraints, scope changes, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Facilitate architecture, design, prototype, validation, readiness, and executive decision reviews.
  • Track investments, lab readiness, prototype materials, supplier dependencies, budgets, deliverables, and manufacturing-readiness requirements.
  • Support customer engagements, technical demonstrations, roadmap reviews, and proof-of-concept programs.
  • Establish scalable program-management processes, dashboards, templates, and governance practices for the CTO organization.
  • Provide clear, concise, and decision-oriented updates to technical and executive stakeholders.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Operations, Program Management, or a related technical field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering program leadership, product development, platform execution, or technical operations.
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional technical programs from concept through validation, launch, or deployment readiness.
  • Strong understanding of complex hardware, infrastructure, cloud, data center, AI, industrial, or mission-critical engineering environments.
  • Ability to connect multiple technical disciplines, including systems architecture, power, cooling, mechanical, electrical, controls, software, validation, and manufacturing.
  • Experience working with engineering leadership, product teams, customers, suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong capability in milestone planning, dependency management, risk mitigation, executive reporting, and decision facilitation.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder-management, analytical, organizational, and cross-functional leadership skills.
