Job Summary:
Under general supervision performs processing and set-up of surgical instrument trays, maintaining the correct sterilization parameters; builds surgical case carts using surgeon's preference lists; processes and distributes supplies and equipment required by Surgery, Nursing, Distribution for the treatment of patients. Maintains certification, and monitors, instructs and mentors non-certified staff. Other duties as assigned. (U)

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
1 year of hospital experience in sterile processing is preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:High School diploma or equivalent is required.
TRAINING REQUIRED:Specialized training (min. 6 mos.-2 yrs.)
LICENSURE REQUIRED:Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the IAHCSMM or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from the CBSPD is required.
