Job Summary

Role Overview :

Design, implement, and maintain robust systems infrastructure across storage, backup, operating systems, and virtualization domains in a dual-datacenter, telecom BSS managed services environment. This is a hands-on, cross-layer engineering role, combining expertise in HPE 3PAR & Primera, RMC, SAN/NAS/NFS, VMware, Linux, Windows, and backup/recovery workflows. The engineer ensures high availability, data protection, performance, and operational efficiency, drives root cause analysis, and collaborates with vendors and internal teams to maintain resilient, scalable production environments. 

Key Responsibilities : 

 Implement, and maintain enterprise-grade systems infrastructure 

 Design secure, highly available, and scalable storage architectures 

 Provide L2/L3 operational support, configure, monitor, and optimize 3PAR/Primera systems (SSMC, CLI) 

 Execute upgrades of storage arrays and service processors 

 Implement asynchronous and synchronous replication 

 Fine-tune storage systems and subsystems; analyze performance data 

 Administer NAS services and NFS file systems 

 Lead end-to-end backup and restore activities 

 Manage snapshots, RMC workflows, and disaster recovery processes 

 SAN concepts: FC zoning, host presentation, multipathing (MPIO) 

 Analyze storage performance and capacity trends 

 Collaborate with VMware, Windows, Linux teams for integration and troubleshooting. 

 Automation using Ansible and shell scripting 

 Patch management and vulnerability remediation 

 Maintain SOPs, documentation, and best practices 

 Ensure ITIL-aligned operations and adherence to security/compliance standards 

 Lead incident resolution, problem management, and post-incident analysis 

 Work closely with support vendors onsite for interventions, coordinate and escalate vendor requests 

Technical Skills : 

 Storage: HPE 3PAR, HPE Primera, HPE RMC; SAN (FC/iSCSI); NAS/NFS; replication; backup/restore 

 OS: Linux (Oracle Linux/Rocky Linux/RHEL), Windows Server, filesystem management (XFS, ext4) 

 Virtualization: VMware ESXi / vCenter, vMotion, HA, DRS, vCHA 

 Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN configuration 

 Automation & Scripting: Ansible, Shell, PowerShell 

 High Availability: Veritas Cluster, Service Guard, RHCS 

Soft Skills : 

 Customer-focused, service-minded, and proactive, Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

 Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders 

 Team player with ability to work independently under pressure 

Experience & Qualifications :

 Master’s degree in a relevant field 

 Minimum 6–7 years in systems and storage engineering, preferably in telecom or managed services environments 

 Proven expertise in cross-layer troubleshooting (storage, OS, VMware) 

 ITIL Foundation; vendor certifications (HPE, VMware, cloud) preferred
