Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Structural Engineering Intern to join our Buildings & Places Structures team. In this role, you will support the design and delivery of structural engineering projects across sectors such as aviation, sport, culture & entertainment, education, healthcare, and transport infrastructure. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams help uphold AECOM’s reputation for technical excellence and innovation.

How you’ll make a difference:

  • Assist with structural design and project delivery, helping to ensure compliance with Australian Standards and Building Codes of Australia (BCA).

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to help develop innovative and sustainable structural solutions.

  • Conduct structural analysis and support the preparation of design reports and engineering documentation.

  • Help with project management by tracking timelines, budgets, and resources, and engaging with clients and stakeholders.

  • Learn and apply best practices to enhance your technical skills and contribute to project outcomes.

Qualifications

  • **Summer Intern attributes: ** Interns who are curious and excited to apply their studies in a professional environment. You'll bring strong communication and teamwork skills, a positive and proactive attitude, adaptability, and a commitment to professionalism and integrity.

  • Bachelor’s Degree: You must be in your penultimate year of a Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in Civil/Structural Engineering

  • Commencement:  Able to work full time hours from mid November 2026 – mid February 2027.

  • Working Rights: Candidates must hold Australian citizenship and be eligible to obtain the required Defence Security Clearance for this role.
