The position will require the assistance and/or taking the lead in preparing professional proposals for structural consulting services for potential projects. The strong ability to concisely convey technical issues and related service offerings to clients, in a manner that secures their confidence, is a must.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience required. Prefer up to 10 years of structural design and consulting experience. Project Management or Operational experience a plus.
  • Experienced in design with structural steel, conventional and post-tensioned concrete, masonry, high wind and seismic design.
  • Experience using various structural design software tools; i.e. RISA, RAM, Navis Manage, Tedds, RetainPro, Adapt-Building.
  • Must have P.E. licensure.  S.E. license is preferred.

As a Structural Project Engineer, you will:

  • Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate structural engineering work. Conceptualize the initial structural design approach for significant projects. Mentor and lead team members while simultaneously performing the structural engineering for projects.
  • Prepare engineering reports, plans and specifications for major projects. Design and produce engineering drawings based on calculations. Check, interpret and revise engineering drawings.
  • Conceive, plan and conduct research in complex problem areas.
  • Prepare and review preliminary and final plans and technical specifications, contract documents and estimates, and make recommendations for additions, deletions and substitutions when modifications are necessary.
  • Participate in contract bidding and construction administration services.
  • Provide leadership and manage structural design job functions to designated engineers and designers and supervise their efforts in completing projects on time within budget.
  • Guide the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with City, State and County officials and other outside agencies.
  • Coordinate projects with clients, contractors, outside consultants and firm staff.
  • Communicate and interact with project team members, client representatives, review agencies and others as appropriate to project. Resolve a variety of complex problems (e.g., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements).
