Supervisor Work Control Planning – Electrical

SUMMARY:
Provide technical support and work direction to Work Control personnel performing maintenance planning activities and package development for one of the three Maintenance disciplines (Electrical, I&C and Mechanical). Supervise work package review and closure. Other areas of responsibility will include procedure reviews, technical investigations, and administrative support - of the work control process. Responsible for the Station’s Preventative Maintenance program.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform the duties and responsibilities as the Planning Supervisor in accordance with approved plant procedures.
Direct activities of Work Control personnel to support completion of work activities as scheduled in order to support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the units.
Oversee planning, implementation, testing, and review activities in support of the Work Control Process.
Set priorities, establish schedules and review/monitor activities of the work group.
Monitor performance of work activities with regards to improving the efficiency of the work process.
Develop, implement and review technical and administrative procedures, as assigned.
Resolve conflicts within the work group.
Provide expectations and performance criteria for the Planning organization and monitor performance ensuring continuous improvement in services provided in order to support Station and Department goals.
Interface on a routine basis with personnel from operations, engineering, maintenance, health physics, chemistry and projects management.
Perform personnel activities for the organization (e.g., performance evaluations, job descriptions, constructive discipline, and employee development, coaching/counseling).
Provide direction to assigned personnel in performance of maintenance planning activities.
Implement Company and Station policies, procedures and quality programs.
Represent Work Control on internal work teams or external groups.
Fill a leadership role within the Emergency Response Organization, as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

EDUCATION
Must have completed a journeyman apprentice training program or have an Associate Degree in assigned discipline. Equivalent military training is acceptable.

EXPERIENCE
Eight (8) years’ experience related to maintenance duties. Experience should include planning, but may include craft supervision, engineering or materials. Individual shall have sufficient technical expertise in assigned discipline to provide technical direction to assigned personnel Equivalent military related experience (U.S. Naval Nuclear Power Program) is acceptable.

SPECIAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS
General knowledge of nuclear power plant operations.
Knowledge of applicable policies, regulations, codes, standards and procedures.
Knowledge of the general requirements of the other disciplines and support work such as scaffolding, insulation, coatings, etc.
Ability to meet and maintain qualifications for unescorted access to the protected/vital areas and unescorted access to the Radiological Control Area (RCA).
Knowledge of Company policies, procedures, Technical Specifications, regulations, codes and standards.
Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, and to persuasively influence people using these skills to seek/implement innovative solutions and continuous improvement.
Ability to set goals and attain high level of achievement from the staff while providing appropriate developmental opportunities.
Leadership/supervisory skills and the ability to delegate work.
Ability to influence others toward action or a particular point of view).
Ability to maintain professional demeanor and function effectively under pressure.
Ability to listen and respond to the thoughts and ideas of others in a non-threatening manner.
Ability to accept responsibility for organization activities and outcomes.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office, plant and outside environment in varied weather conditions. Incumbents will be required to kneel, climb, stoop and bend to safely negotiate around operating plant equipment while performing field walkdowns and supervision of work activities.
Overtime as needed. Shiftwork as required. Subject to callout 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
Work is performed without close managerial direction.
