Senior Manager Platform Architect  Role Summary  The Senior Manager: Platform Architect provides strategic direction and technical leadership for the design, development, and evolution of scalable software platforms that enable high‑impact solutions across the MTN value chain.   The role ensures that business needs are rigorously translated into clear technical requirements through strong Functional Analysis, resulting in architecture that is robust, efficient, and aligned to enterprise standards  Responsibilities  Strategic & Technical Leadership  Oversee the development and implementation of the strategy/roadmap for Platform Architecture in Software Solutions, prioritizing short-, medium-, and long‑term goals based on business objectives, emerging technologies, and industry trends in close collaboration with key business stakeholders.  Lead the design and development of software solutions and platforms, ensuring alignment with MTN’s digital transformation goals and objectives.   Provide technical guidance, set clear goals and expectations, and conduct regular performance evaluations.  Collaborate closely with other chapter leads to align on the overall Software Solutions strategy, drive synergies, and achieve engineering excellence.  Platform Architecture Design & Governance  Implement and guide teams to design scalable architectures, applying load balancing, resource optimization, caching, data partitioning, and horizontal scaling techniques.  Lead the implementation of robust security measures and vulnerability assessments across the Software CoE to prevent and address vulnerabilities (e.g., SQL injection, XSS, CSRF) in collaboration with cybersecurity teams.  Manage and address performance bottlenecks and scalability challenges within the architecture domain, optimizing performance using tools such as Vtune and PVS‑Studio, and proactively anticipating near‑future scalability needs.  Drive adherence to architectural principles, coding standards, and quality assurance practices across all delivery squads.  Drive the enforcement of governance frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, GDPR, HIPAA), ensuring adoption of best practices, processes, methodologies, and tools across the MTN value chain.  Functional Analysis   Lead Functional Analysis efforts to ensure business requirements are accurately captured, clarified, and translated into actionable technical specifications that directly inform platform design and architectural decisions.  Facilitate alignment between business requirements and technical execution, ensuring functional and non‑functional requirements are prioritized and consistently embedded in solution and Platform Architecture.  Work with cross‑functional teams—including product, engineering, cybersecurity, operations, and infrastructure—to validate system behaviours, dependencies, integration needs, and expected outcomes, reducing ambiguity and improving technical delivery precision.  Strengthen Functional Analysis capability across the Platform Architecture Chapter, embedding requirement‑to‑design discipline, documentation standards, and analytical rigour across squads.  Qualification & Experience  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics and Communication  Post graduate degree in Computer Science /Networks and /or equivalent professional qualification (Preferred)  Minimum of 8-10 years  End to End Systems Solutioning, Telecommunications solutions Architectur
