Job Description


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT End user Computing, Server, Virtualization, Network and Network Security Management.


In this role, a typical day will include:


IT Infrastructure Management:

    • Oversee and maintain servers, networks, and other critical IT infrastructure.
    • Ensure system availability, performance, and scalability.
    • Implement VMware technology solutions for virtualization, networking, and storage infrastructures
    • Create, test, and deploy VMware vSphere environments
    • Deploy and manage vCloud Director and vCenter
    • Develop, build, and support VMware NSX networks
    • Procure, configure, and implement VMware products and related technologies
    • Implement and maintain VMware ESXi
    • Manage the VMware vShield Manager
    • Ensure all VMware products meet business requirements
    • Provide technical support to end users, operations, and management
    • Maintain knowledge of VMware products and industry trends
    • Decide and implement appropriate VMware products and technologies
    • Perform system maintenance as needed

IT Operations:

  • System Administration:
    • Manage physical and virtual servers (Windows, Linux, Cloud-based platforms).
    • Oversee backups, patch management, and system updates.
  • Network Management:
    • Maintain and secure LAN/WAN environments, firewalls, and VPNs.
    • Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, and access points.
  • End-User Support:
    • Assist with escalated IT issues and ensure smooth end-user experiences.
    • Implement endpoint security solutions for devices.
  1. Security Operations:
  • Threat Detection and Response:
    • Monitor security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection) for incidents.
    • Investigate and respond to security events or breaches.
  • Access Control:
    • Implement and enforce identity and access management (IAM) policies.
    • Conduct periodic reviews of access logs and privileges.
  • Vulnerability Management:
    • Identify vulnerabilities through regular scans and penetration testing.
    • Work with IT teams to prioritize and remediate findings.
  • Incident Response:
    • Develop and execute incident response plans.
    • Document and analyze security incidents to improve defenses.
  • Cybersecurity Oversight:
    • Design and implement security architectures to protect data and systems.
    • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability management.
  • Collaboration and Integration:
    • Work across IT, DevOps, and security teams to align technology and security goals.
    • Ensure seamless integration of security into IT processes.
  • Compliance and Governance:
    • Support compliance with security regulations and standards (ISO 27001, NIST).
    • Enforce governance practices across IT systems.

Strategic Planning:

  • Security Architecture:
    • Design secure IT environments aligned with organizational objectives.
    • Implement multi-layered security models (e.g., defense-in-depth).
  • Technology Assessment:
    • Evaluate and recommend security tools and emerging technologies.
    • Conduct Proof of Concept (PoC) for new IT and security solutions.

Compliance and Policy Management:

  • Ensure adherence to industry security standards and organizational policies.
  • Create and update IT security policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Education and Awareness:

  • Conduct training sessions to improve cybersecurity awareness.
  • Develop user-friendly documentation on IT and security best practices.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's / Masters degree in information technology, IT, Server, Network, Cloud, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in cloud security auditing, posture reviews, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience in identifying and documenting gaps against cloud cybersecurity requirements.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, particularly in cloud (Vmware, AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365,Firewall, Security tools) environments.
  • Proficiency in using cybersecurity auditing tools and technologies.
  • Certification in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
