Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience building, automating, and developing distributed systems.
  • Experience managing end-to-end software engineering programs.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Basic SQL and scripting skills needed for data analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, communications and stakeholder management skills.
  • Distinctive problem-solving and project management skills, including experience executing complex strategic and operational initiatives.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Consumer Shopping Infrastructure Programs team drives engineering velocity to enable, scale, and support the Shopping Infrastructure engineering team. Consumer Shopping Infrastructure develops reliable, efficient, easy-to-use full stack solutions encompassing all the serving, and data processing infrastructure that powers organic Shopping offerings and next generation AI experiences.

People shop on Google more than a billion times a day - and the Commerce team is responsible for building the experiences that serve these users. The mission for Google Commerce is to be an essential part of the shopping journey for consumers - from inspiration to to a simple and secure checkout experience - and the best place for retailers/merchants to connect with consumers. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $138000 - $197000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, or manage project plans for supported programs.
  • Review key metrics pertaining to a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations.
  • Identify, communicate, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders within one or more teams to drive impact and work toward mutual goals.
  • Project execution leadership leveraging technical expertise and organization skills to increase team velocity.
  • Process design and implementation to facilitate client onboarding, metric gathering and reporting, and other tasks.
