About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Enterprises and sovereign governments worldwide face increasing regulatory pressure to protect their data, demanding stringent visibility and proof that cloud providers comply with local legal and security frameworks. The Regulated Cloud (RC) team addresses this critical need by building foundational platforms that empower customers with highly regulated workloads to leverage the full scale and innovation of Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Central to this mission is the Data Boundary initiative. The Data Boundary team designs, builds, and enforces the logical and physical perimeters that control how data is stored, processed, and accessed within specific geographical and regulatory jurisdictions. We integrate disparate corporate, infrastructure, and monitoring systems into a unified platform to provide a cohesive compliance posture, including configuration enforcement, real-time monitoring, and comprehensive audit capabilities.

In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to solve unprecedented engineering and regulatory challenges at Google scale. You will be at the forefront of establishing the foundational trust that enables the world's most critical institutions to innovate with confidence in the cloud.

Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. We deliver enterprise-grade solutions that leverage Google’s cutting-edge technology, and tools that help developers build more sustainably. Customers in more than 200 countries and territories turn to Google Cloud as their trusted partner to enable growth and solve their most critical business problems.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $163000 - $236000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Work across multiple engineering and compliance teams to independently define, lead, and own program charters addressing scope, timeline, resourcing, and risks/dependencies.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Product Management, Legal, and external stakeholders to bootstrap new compliance programs and align infrastructure, networking deliverables, and execution timelines.
  • Identify and manage dynamic program risks, dependencies, and critical organizational pivots, driving effective change management and alignment across stakeholders.
  • Establish, mature, and manage program governance structures, ensuring efficient mitigation tracking, rigorous postmortems, and streamlined escalation pathways.
  • Manage strategic engagement and communication channels across various stakeholder bases, successfully translating technical infrastructure constraints into business and operational outcomes.
