About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The CSRM-Technical Operations Safety Platforms, Architectures and Concept Engineering (SPACE) team is looking for an innovative and technically-driven Technical Program Manager to join our team sustaining the electronic security and safety systems in our data center fleet. You will get to exercise all your physical security systems expertise, and system administration knowledge to make Google data centers a safer and more operationally sound place to work.

In this role, you will own the logical administration, remote maintenance strategy, and lifecycle standards of physical security devices across our entire data center fleet. You will architect global lifecycle and firmware maintenance programs and drive remote support performance to ensure zero operational downtime. By leveraging health telemetry and building strong cross-functional partnerships, you will directly influence how our physical security systems are maintained and secured while reducing the fleet’s overall risk profile.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $163000 - $236000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Engage with cross-functional teams (site operations, compliance, and engineering) to optimize logical configurations and platform integrity for physical security systems, streamlining remote programming and change management.
  • Drive global standardization of system programming, configuration settings, and diagnostic workflows for physical security infrastructure (e.g., access control, CCTV) to ensure consistent remote commissioning and breakfix execution.
  • Develop and monitor performance KPIs for system uptime and resolution efficiency, while designing telemetry dashboards to enhance remote diagnostic tools and provide real-time visibility into device health.
  • Architect and manage a remote support SLA framework, holding internal support tiers and third-party integration partners to strict Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR) and quality-of-repair targets globally.
  • Lead technical root-cause analysis (RCA) for major system outages by leveraging device event logs, network packet captures, and telemetry data to prevent repeat incidents and address systemic vulnerabilities.
