Technical
SolutionsEngineer EMEA
Role purpose:
As a steam applications expert you will
support / lead in the design of technical solutions predominately working on complex and high value projects,
where our customers are looking to reduce operational energy costs. The
Technical Centre of Excellence team ensure the solution is best in industry and
fit for purpose. As part of this team the Technical Solution Engineer has
responsibility for evaluating customer enquiries and translating into a
technical solution.
This vacancy is open to candidates based across EMEA region.
Key Accountabilities:
•The
commercial integrity (contractual, Delegation of Authority (DOA) process etc.)
of developed solutions.
•The
compliance of developed and delivered solutions.
•On
time delivery performance for allocated work packages.
•Indirect reports that have been allocated
to support the development and delivery of the solutions, including
sub-contract specialist services for back office and on-site activities etc.
•Enable divisional sales growth in EMEA
through successful project completion and providing additional resource for the
operating sales companies.
•Continually improve upon best practice and positively represent the Technical
Centre of Excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
•Support
EMEA Divisional functions in delivering commercially viable decarbonisation and
energy optimisation projects across EMEA.
•Carry
out assessments and audits for technical solution development.
•Create
Tier 3 and emerging decarbonisation solutions, including electrification,
high‑temperature heat pumps, thermal energy storage and hybrid steam systems.
•Lead
the creation of design specifications and associated documentation for the
developed solutions.
•Ensure
the technical integrity of the developed solutions, compliance, best practice
etc.
•Undertake
and manage the allocated tasks to ensure successful completion and delivery;
including subcontractor management of site Mechanical and Electrical
installation activities.
•Manage
budgets and margin protection.
•Pro-active
development and implementation of continuous improvement strategies.
•Ensure
the health, safety and welfare of yourself and your team. The team’s activities
must not cause risk or harm during the execution of your duties, both in the
office environment and on customer sites.
•Travel
across the EMEA division, meeting customers, visiting sites, developing OPCO
capabilities and securing orders.
Measures / KPI's:
•Design,
development and integration of technically sound and deployable low‑carbon and
energy optimisation solutions.
•Completion
of site surveys and technical assessments.
•Creation
of compliant and accurate documentation.
•Completion
of audits and maintenance plans.
•Compliance
with industry and local standards.
•Collaboration
and communication with the Delivery and Site teams.
•Proactive
management of solution development, cost control, and margin.
Relevant Experience:
•Excellent
working knowledge of Spirax applications, systems and processes.
•Knowledge
of group solution development and installation.
•Experience
in a customer facing role.
•Management
of site based, solutions, projects or installations
•Management
of sub-contractors on a customer site.
•Practical
experience of installing developed solutions
Required
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:
•Expected
minimum level 5 in a technical discipline.
•Ability
to work effectively under pressure.
•Excellent
Decision-making ability.
•Strong
interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications,
Skills and Competencies:
•Demonstrable
experience delivering complex engineered solutions in an industrial or energy
environment.
•A
minimum of 2 years working in an applied steam and process environment.
•Appropriate
H&S qualification e.g. IOSH / NEBOSH or working towards.
