Job Summary

As a SnapX Windows Technical Support Engineer you provide support for diagnosing, reproducing, and fixing software issues. You will troubleshoot NetApp backup and recovery software on WINDOWS systems to assist customers with problem isolation and resolution. To be successful in this role, you must be a motivated self-starter and self-learner, possess strong customer service and technical problem solving skills; and be someone who embraces challenges.

Job Requirements

*** Must have 1 or more areas of experience in backup and recovery on a Windows Platform ***

 

- Backup and database applications and/or NetApp software (SnapCenter Server, SnapCenter for SQL, SnapCenter for Exchange, SnapCenter for VMware, SnapDrive for Windows, NetApp DataBroker,  is preferred.

- Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills are needed in order to work successfully with customers in high stress and/or ambiguous situations.

- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer-facing environment.

 

- Understanding of the following protocols and applications:

-CIFS

-TCP/IP and Networking

-RAID

 

Should have at least 1 area of expertise listed below:

-NetApp hardware platforms and peripheral devices

-Windows administration and technical support

-NAS and/or SAN storage and surrounding infrastructure

-NetApp Cluster-Mode Storage Solutions and related technologies

-The interoperability of enterprise applications (SnapCenter Server, MS Windows, SQL, Exchange) with NetApp storage systems and solutions

-Server and Desktop Virtualization Solutions 

Education

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2-5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of relevant education/training/technical certifications and applicable professional work experience.
