Telecoms Field Engineer/Electrical Engineer

Location: UK Wide (Travel Required)
Department: Projects & Delivery
Reports to: Project Manager / Assistant Project Manager / Senior Delivery Manager

Role Purpose

Telecoms Field Engineer will be responsible for installation, configuration, integration, call testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance across UK operator networks. The role requires nationwide travel, occasional weekend work, and extended hours where required.

The successful candidate will demonstrate technical competence, professionalism, and flexibility while engaging with both internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

·        Attend project sites with correct preparation and equipment.

·        Work independently or within small teams to deliver site activities.

·        Complete all required documentation, including Hand Over Packs (HOPs), Completion Certificates, Surveys, and H&S/CDM reports.

·        Follow company procedures and Health & Safety requirements at all times.

·        Proactively gather required tools, materials, and site data.

·        Execute installation, commissioning, configuration, integration, and call testing tasks.

·        Perform troubleshooting, technical investigations, and resolution activities.

·        Maintain PPE, test kits, and tools in good working condition and calibration.

Essential Skills & Experience

·        Demonstrable UK telecoms industry experience.

·        2+ years’ commissioning & integration experience on Ericsson and/or Nokia in the last 5 years.

·        Minimum 6 months troubleshooting experience on Ericsson and/or Nokia within the last 2 years.

·        Experience supporting multi-technology networks (Nokia, Ericsson, VMO2, EE, Vodafone).

·        Skilled in 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, and transmission networks.

·        Proven ability to work with 3rd parties, customers, and site providers.

·        Track record of completing documentation to agreed SLAs.

Person Specification

·        Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

·        Own laptop, test phone, and tools.

·        Flexible, positive attitude with ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team.

·        Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

·        Willingness to work nationwide with variable hours.

Academic & Technical Requirements

Essential:

·        Telecommunications or related industry background.

·        Current Health & Safety certifications (or willingness to complete within onboarding):

o   TEL003 Certification

o   Emergency First Aid

o   RF Awareness

o   Manual Handling

o   Asbestos Awareness

o   Rooftop Access (fixed ladder)

o   NRSWA Street Works

Desirable:

·        BTEC ONC/OND in a relevant subject.

·        DC and Electrical Awareness.
